In a season where Pleasantville’s boys’ basketball squad finished with 12 wins, their best win of the season was an early-season win over Ogden.
Since the Trojans have moved to the West Central Conference, Pleasantville has split the first four matchups between the two squads in the Varsity Bound era. The Trojans were also looking to shake off back-to-back losses to Madrid and Van Meter. In their lone matchup of the season December 14th, the two squads went back and forth with the Bulldogs clinging to a one-point lead at halftime. Pleasantville was able to pull away thanks to a 26-point third quarter and hang on for a 68-61 victory.
Andrew Pender had his best game of the season, having an impressive statline of 21 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists and two steals in the victory. Mason Scheve scored 22, and Taylon Mount knocked in a season-high six three-pointers in the win. The victory over the Bulldogs was Pleasantville’s third win of the season and the Trojans’ second straight road victory over Ogden.
Pleasantville would finish the 2021-22 season with a 12-10 record and a 9-7 record in West Central Conference play.
