Tulip City Track and Field alumni earned All-American honors at their respective national tournaments this weekend.
Annika Pingel, a senior with Doane from Pella High School, was one of eight finalists for the 800m run and she ran a time of 2:18.93 to place seventh overall for NAIA All-American honors–the first All-American honor for Pingel.
Blake Veenstra, a sophomore with Hawkeye Community College and former Pella Christian Eagle state qualifier, earned two All-American honors at the NJCAA championships, placing 5th in the Men’s Shot Put and 7th in the Weight Throw.
Following this weekend’s NCAA Division I indoor championships, the focus for most athletes turns to the outdoor season.
