Nearly 24 hours after a deadly tornado outbreak across south central Iowa, winter made its return overnight Sunday through this morning.
Most of the area received between three to five inches of snow, including five at the KNIA/KRLS Studios in Pella and Knoxville.
Daytime highs will hover in the 30s and 40s this week before another round of snow impacts the region Thursday, bringing even colder air by the weekend, with highs in the 20s and overnight lows approaching the single digits.
