The Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad fell short of the South Central Conference championship this season finishing in 3rd place. The Panthers next season want to contend again for the title in 2022/2023. Coach Matt Ritchhart tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that should be a goal to go after next year and beyond the conference to advance in the class 4A regionals.

Ritchhart: “We want to get to a conference championship, that should be our goal next season. We know Centerville will be good and so will Eddyville. You also have to put in the work, you just don’t get better by getting older so that’s what we’ll be going for next season.”

The Panthers finished 6-6 in the conference and will have two extra games to play with the addition of Cardinal to the South Central Conference, which will bump the conference membership from seven to eight and will take the issue of conference byes away.
