The Marion County Democrats held their annual soup luncheon this past weekend. Candidates running for local and state offices were in attendance
Glen Hurst who is running for the U.S. Senate told KNIA/KRLS News what issues he is focused on.
“I focus on rural recovery because we’ve had 25% population loss in our state over the last 40 years. We have 40 hospitals at high risk for closure and the second-worst bridges in the nation. We have to address injecting the services into our communities that will allow our communities to thrive and grow. They are going to identify how that’s going to happen and who they are going to be but if they don’t have health care along with access to their communities and to broadband then that is just not going to happen.”
Nine candidates spoke and took questions from the audience.
