Long-time Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association (ISDTA) President Lois Turnage passed away this week. Turnage lived in Pleasantville and was a vocal music and band teacher at Pleasantville Elementary and coached the Pleasantville Color Guard team. Turnage was a champion for high school dance and color guard in Iowa and served on the ISDTA board for nearly 40 years. Officials from the organization say Turnage was instrumental in supporting ISDTA and giving Iowa dance athletes a stage on which to compete and perform.
