A select group of Melcher-Dallas students competed in the BlueGrass Conference Math competition. Teanna Hasso, the math Instructor at Melcher-Dallas, tells KNIA KRLS News about the contest.
“Every year the Bluegrass Conference schools get together and give their students an individualized test in the category they are entered in. I try to take two students for each category: Algebra one and two, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus. There are 50 multiple choice questions and they have an hour to complete.”
As a team, Melcher-Dallas finished first overall. Individual place winners include Jaylissa Juline second place in Algebra one, Trever Raab second place in Geometry, MaeLee Gentry third place in Algebra 2, Cole Metz first place in Pre-Calculus, and Scott Johnson second place Pre Calculus. Other team members that competed include Owen Suntken, Jenna Mickey, and Gracie Inlow.
