The Simpson baseball team is off to a 2-1 start to the season after traveling to Topeka, Kansas to open competition last weekend, taking down Carthage in a doubleheader sweep 8-1 and 17-8, then falling to Gustavus 14-10.
The Storm will round out their non-conference competition after an eight-day slate of games in Auburndale, Florida, where they will take on Farmingdale State, Beloit, St. Norbert, Clarkson, Illinois Wesleyan, and Brockport, over the next week.
Simpson brings back all-conference talent Brady Held and Colton Major, as well as multiple contributors to last year’s team that made the American Rivers Conference tournament. The Storm were picked to finish in fifth by the preseason conference coaches poll.
