Indianola senior Lauren Blake was named to the class 4A Iowa Print Sports Writers Association All-State 2nd Team after her performance this season, leading the Indians to a 17-5 record and a second place finish in the Little Hawkeye Conference.

Blake averaged 20.2 points per contest while leading the team with 7.6 rebounds, and concluded a career that topped 1,000 points, one of just five athletes to do so in the girls basketball program history.

Head coach Jeff Janssen tells KNIA Sports Lauren and the other seniors in the program have left their mark on the program because of the example they set.

“The consistency that they brought day in and day out for four years in the program. They gave everything they could and did everything I asked of them for the past few years. I said it earlier and I’ll say it again, I don’t know Indianola without these seniors, their impact on the program is going to be felt and with me personally for sure in the future.”

Blake will be attending Central Missouri to play basketball at the next level. Find a full list of honorees below.
