The Pella School Board approved a contract for another phase of bond issue improvements at their work session Wednesday. A bid was accepted from Graphite Construction Corporation for $4,276,000 to build 12 new tennis courts late this spring at Caldwell Park, which is now owned by the school district.

The board also approved teacher, staff, and administrative compensation increases, which will mostly fall around 3.1% for the vast majority of district employees. Higher increases were afforded for many of their part-time or non-teaching full-time staff members as well.
