Pleasantville and PCM’s boys’ track squad opened their season competing at the Dickinson Relays at the University of Northern Iowa this past week.
The Mustangs had one top ten finish among their athletes, which came from senior Aiden Anderson. Anderson finished eighth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.17 seconds, finishing just two-tenths of a second behind two sixth-place finishers, Ayden Price of West Des Moines Valley and Beau Flander of English Valleys. The next-highest finish for PCM was 26th in the 4×200 meter relay with a time of 1:39.03. Running in that relay was Anderson, Kaden Hale, Gavin Fenton, and Adrien Robbins.
The Trojans’ top finisher came in the 4×400 meter relay, placing 31st with a time of 3:52.31. The relay was run by Blayton Nilles, Kurt Kuhen, Krishyon Grabovskis, and Caleb Cook. Pleasantville’s top individual finisher came from Edwin Escalante in the high jump, who placed 43rd with a jump of 5’6”.
Pleasantville and PCM’s first outdoor meet of the season will be March 29th at Pella Christian.
