Twelve new tennis courts and additional parking are coming to what was the north block of Caldwell Park in Pella following action by the Pella School Board this week.
Superintendent Greg Ebeling says Graphite Construction Corporation was awarded a $4.27 million contract for the project approved as part of the November 2021 bond issue. Ebeling says they added three alternates to the bid to accommodate various levels of growth in the tennis programs and with enrollment in general.
Ebeling says they are staying on time with approval of contracts thus far for the bond-issue projects, but also acknowledges the two most significant projects — the early childhood center and Jefferson-Middle School connector, remain on the table.
