The Twin Cedars Girls Track and Field Squad is eagerly awaiting the weather to warm up so they can get on the track and get their workouts in. The Sabers are at a disadvantage to larger schools due to not having an all-weather track. Coach Cam Parker tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he has been improvising the first couple of weeks with a variety of workouts.
Parker: “Been running the halls, our cfront circle, been weight lifting. We’re going to get a little more specific working on relay teams, and putting those events together, working on throws. So it’s been a good start to our season.”
The Sabers return Rylee Dunkin, who qualified in the 800, 1500, and 3000 last season and looks to be a three-time State qualifier this season. The Sabers get their season underway Thursday with an indoor meet at Central College hosted by Pekin the outdoor season begins one week later at Albia.
