Marion County Development will be hosting a listening session called Heartland Together Thursday, March 31 at 8 am at Peace Tree Brewing Company in Knoxville. The session is for area entrepreneurs, economic development organizations, local government leaders, and educators and is a part of several sessions being held throughout Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska. The sessions are to help gain an understanding of the barriers, opportunities, and challenges with entrepreneurship in rural areas. Through these sessions, the Kauffman Foundation is working towards starting a pilot program to address the issues identified and to grow prosperity in rural America through entrepreneurship.
