The Indianola wrestling team this season earned an individual state championship, a Little Hawkeye Conference regular season and tournament championship, and a 7th place finish in the class 3A State Dual Tournament. Head coach Clint Manny tells KNIA Sports all of that was possible because of the hard work and leadership of the upperclassman of the group, who showed the program what it takes to be a champion.
“This senior group is very special, and they will be greatly missed. They were great leaders, great ambassadors for the state of wrestling, and honestly people I hope my son looks up to for years to come.”
The Indians graduate a senior class of 8, including state meet qualifiers Walker Whalen, Cael Crawford, and Bryce Aldridge, as well as state champion Ryder Downey.
