The Indianola School District will have a new superintendent beginning this summer, after the school board selected Ted Ihns last week. Ihns tells KNIA News having been a teacher, vice-principal, principal, and administrator, he is well aware of the value teachers bring to the community, and wants to be able to support their hard work.
“Anybody that works in education, that’s how we are on a daily basis. Sometimes it’s easier as you become a more veteran teacher to care for the kids and education, and sometimes it’s tough as a beginning teacher to have that because you are so worried about having content or getting through this or having the kids know what i’m talking about. But we have to help younger teachers because it will come more natural and over time the content will come once the relationship is built.”
Ihns was featured on In Depth with Dr. Bob Leonard earlier this week. To listen to the full interview, click below.
