Indianola Parks and Rec held another Tunes and Treats Concert Tuesday at the Indianola Activity Center, hosting country artist Royce Johns. Johns played a mix of original songs and covers of Waylon Jennings, George Jones and Johnny Cash among others. Johns tells KNIA News the crowd of over 100 was very receptive and it was fun to be able to play to a crowd that was attentive.

“I used to do a lot of retirement facility stuff in the daytime, I had to stop doing that pretty much when covid started. It was refreshing, people were receptive. You just don’t get the experience of sitting down and playing to a listening room crowd in this area, it’s hard to put it together and set the tone, and it was great. I didn’t know what I was walking into, it sounded just like a daytime thing, and my buddy said it was great so I went along and did it.”
