With spring weather starting more people will be outdoors enjoying activities. Knoxville Firefighter Paramedic Brandon Glenn tells KNIA/KRLS News about precautions to be taken.

“You can check your dryer vents. Make sure the vents have been cleaned and that the dryer is working properly. Make sure to check the distance from your home that your grill is and make sure the grill is working properly. Check your propane tank to make sure it’s not leaking and make sure you close it once you are done using it. For smokers out there check your butt (cigarette) can as those can cause a fire on your porch and deck and make sure you have a fire extinguisher next to any of these fire sources so it is available to use. 

In case of emergency, always dial 911 for help.
