The Knoxville Community Chorus will perform their 2022 spring concert titled, “40 Years in the Making”, Friday, March 25 at 7 pm and Sunday, March 27 at 2 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville. Kathleen Taylor from the chorus tells KNIA/KRLS News about the title of the concert

“We’ve actually been together a little bit longer but we are going to call this our 40th year. We have been singing for 42 years but we had a giant break but the thing that was most disappointing to us was that we didn’t have a concert on our 40th year as we were going to have a big celebration.”

The chorus will perform selections from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma!,” “The Sound of Music” and a mix of pop, gospel, and patriotic songs as the chorus celebrates their 40th Spring concert.  The chorus is inviting all past members, accompanists, and directors to be recognized during the program. The concert is a free-will donation and refreshments will be provided by Marion County State Bank after the concert in the church fellowship hall.
