State Senator Julian Garrett has announced his intentions to seek re-election to the newly formed Senate District 11, formed around Warren County and portions of Marion County including Knoxville.

Senator Garrett has served in the State Senate since a special election in 2013, and was re-elected for full terms in 2014 and 2018, and currently serves as Chair of the Justice Systems Subcommittee, Vice Chair of the Judiciary Committee, and serves on Human Resources, Local Government, and was recently appointed to serve on the Administrative Rules Review Committee.

Senator Garrett said in a statement:

“I am very pleased to be able to run again in Warren County. Though I am sad to lose the constituents I have had in Madison County, I am pleased to have the opportunity to make new friends in the Knoxville area and to ask for their support.”

Garrett will compete in a primary election on June 7th for the Republican Party nomination.
