Pella Christian has many multi-sport athletes like many schools in Class 1A and 2A across Iowa, which means that like many, the Eagles track and field team has athletes at different levels in the training process. Eagles track and field Head Coach Keith Anderson says that his squad has many runners at different points in the training process, but the coaching staff is working to get everyone ready for the season.
“They’re all at different spots on both the girls side and the boys side. I’ve got some of these student-athletes that have been training, they’ve been in the weight room and doing stuff on their own. I have a lot of athletes that are multi-sport athletes and track is just one way to stay in shape for the next season. And then I’ve got some athletes where track is the only sport they’re doing. So, just kind of knowing expectations and knowing what each athlete is trying to accomplish, that kind of helps me and my assistant coaches a little bit better on how far to push them and what events they’re going to be better suited for.”
Pella Christian begins their season on Thursday March 24th at Bear Athletic Fitness Center in Grinnell.
