The filing period for the primary elections ended on Friday. In the Statewide races the following have filed. For Governor, Incumbent Republican Kim Reynolds, and Democrat Diedre Dejear. For the U.S. Senate on the Republican side, Iowa State Senator Jim Carlin will challenge U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley in the primary, and on the Democratic side former Representative Abby Finkenauer, Admiral Michael Franken, and Dr. Glenn Hurst will face off. In the first district U.S. House primary,   Republicans are current Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks, and business owner Kyle Keuhl from Bettendorf, and on the Democratic side Attorney and University of Iowa Professor Christina Bohannon is running unopposed. For Secretary of State Republican Paul D. Pate, and Democrats Joel Miller, and Eric Vanlancker have filed.  For State Auditor Republican Mary Ann Hanusa, and incumbent Democrat Rob Sand will compete in the general election. For Treasurer Republican Iowa State Senator Roby Smyth will challenge incumbent Democrat MIchael L. Fitzgerald. For Secretary of Agriculture, incumbent Republican Mike Naig Democrat and Polk County Soil and Water Commissioner John Norwood. For Attorney General Republican Guthrie County Attorney Brenna Bird will challenge incumbent Democrat Tom Miller.

The Primary Elections are June 7.
