The Knoxville Girls Tennis Squad will start the season off Tuesday against Norwalk. The Panthers will have to replace two of their top three varsity singles players as Josline McKeever and Alyssa Vaske both graduated last spring. Coach Nick DeMoss tells KNIA/KRLS Sports Olivia Maasdam is a candidate for #1 singles, plus sister Janie is now a freshman and might figure into the mix. Right now DeMoss says the varsity line is not set and hopes to see who is able to fit in by Tuesday.

DeMoss: “Try to evaluate over the next few practices. It’s really hard to gauge what happens in a gym so hopefully we get outside. I just try to get the best players out there and see what happens.”

DeMoss adds Jayden Streigle will also figure into the varsity line up as will Laila Tiller, Elle Ensor, Riley Dailey, and Kate Schneider. DeMoss says he will try to find players who can play strong and give his team the best chance for victory.
