The journey back to Cownie Sports Complex begins for Norwalk’s girls’ soccer squad as they open their season Monday night at ADM.

The Warriors are returning their top six goal-scorers from last season, including star Jocelyn Bice, who scored a whopping 23. Norwalk will also be returning Reagan Teut, Marin Randall, and Addison Burch, who combined to score 24 goals for the Warriors. This will be the ninth time the two teams have squared off in the last ten seasons. Norwalk has won two of the previous three matchups with the Tigers, but ADM has the edge, winning seven out of the nine previous matches. Norwalk came away victorious on Senior Night last season, 3-0. Teut, Regan Holtorf, and Ella Apana-Stipe all scored goals for Norwalk in that matchup. Coach Andrew Messer tells KNIA Sports that he respects ADM as a program and is looking forward to getting the season started.

“Last year we took care of ADM. They are a strong program. The coaches do a very good job of getting their girls ready for the season. It’s definitely not a game that you can take lightly. ADM is a strong team. We just gotta put our feet on the ground, get our minds in the game and say, ‘we’re here, we’re ready’.”

The match at ADM High School gets underway at 7:00 PM.
