The National Commander of the American Legion made a visit to the local post in Pella Friday.
Paul E. Dillard spoke to the local American Legion Post 89 at the Pella Memorial Building as part of his term leading the veterans’ organization. He made the trip in part to meet Pella High School Student Maddie Schmitz, who inspired the local American Legion Post to donate U.S. Flags to every classroom in the Pella Community School District. Dillard says he was honored to meet Maddie and the members of Post 89, and appreciates the efforts the group has made to connect with the Pella community.
