State Senator Ken Rozenboom will remain on the ballot for the upcoming primary election and general election. Rozenboom is running in the new District 19, but a state panel that reviews election petition submittals received a challenge from a Newton resident. The claim was Rozenboom had shown a “pattern of fraud” by first resigning from his seat officially to the Secretary of State’s office, only to later run for election. On the nomination submission, the senator listed his current address north of Oskaloosa. However, the claim was quickly denied — the panel determined as long as Rozenboom establishes residency in the new district 60 days before the general election, he’s eligible to run.
