A local youth swimmer had success at a large swim meet this past weekend. Reilly Green, who is 8, qualified to swim at the Minnesota Youth Athletic Services (MYAS) Regional Meet. The meet, held at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center at The University of Minnesota, included teams from Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. In his first event on Saturday, he took second place in the 100 yard freestyle, shaving 12.29 seconds off his personal best. He went on to set personal bests in five of the six events he swam in winning three events (25 yard butterfly, 25 yard freestyle, and the 200 yard individual medley), taking second in the 100 yard freestyle, third in the 100 yard individual medley, and fourth in the 50 yard breaststroke. He was the high point champion for the 8 and under division at the meet.
