The Knoxville School Board approved an agreement with Stepping Stones Early Learning Center at their recent meeting. Knoxville Community School District Superintendent Cassi Pearson spoke with KNIA/KRLS about the agreement.
“The agreement that was entered into was more about space. Stepping Stones runs our Kindergarten through Fifth grade before and after school programs at West Elementary. Now we will be using two of Stepping stone’s classrooms for the additional sections of our four-year-old preschool even though they will be our teachers. So this was more of a space agreement since we are using each other’s spaces there will not be any money exchanged for that.”
Pearson explains if families will see any changes with the new agreements.
“From a parent’s perspective, our families will not see a change in how the preschool operates. This is more behind the scenes for the reporting we have to do and where the paychecks come from.”
