The Pella Christian boys soccer team opens their season tonight as they host PCM, while the girls soccer team has their first home match against reigning Little Hawkeye Conference champion Norwalk.

In the Bound era, the Pella Christian boys soccer team is 7-3 against PCM. The Eagles outlasted the Mustangs by a final score of 3-2 last season, by winning the penalty kicks 4-2 to pick up one of their two wins on the year. Pella Christian struggled with scoring last season and head coach Jake Fancher says more experience and speed should help the Eagles score more points in 2022.

“I think our skill level all-around is up from last year. We have one more year of experience and we have two or three freshmen that have extensive playing experience and have a lot of speed so we’re looking for those guys to be on the offense.”

The Eagles girls soccer squad comes into their meeting with Norwalk off of a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory over Ottumwa. Pella Christian has struggled against the Warriors during the Bound era, as Norwalk is a perfect 9-0 against the Eagles. Last season, Norwalk defeated Pella Christian 3-0.

The Eagles boys soccer team match with PCM begins at 5:30 p.m. at Pella Christian High School, and the girls soccer game with Norwalk is also at 5:30 p.m. at Pella Community Soccer Complex.
