The Knoxville School Board heard a presentation on standard-based learning at their most recent meeting. Knoxville Schools Superintendent Cassi Pearson spoke With KNIA/KRLS News about the presentation.
“Our High School teachers gave the presentation and they have been working on this since the 2017 school year. A small group did a pilot and have done some more studying and several teachers will be added to the pilot with the rest of the teachers as well.
Pearson explains what is standard-based learning.
“Standard-based learning identifies specific skills in every class and students receive feedback on how they are progressing with those skills. It makes it easier for the students to know what the expectations are and how to improve.”
