Work on Phase 2 of the Indianola Downtown Square Reconstruction Project continued this week. A CenturyLink fiber duct bank was discovered on the corner of 1st and Salem, and could cause delays due to CenturyLink being responsible for moving the bank and work on sewer infrastructure upgrades on Salem can’t move forward until the bank is moved. Water pressure and bacteria tests will take place today, with results expected next week.

Over the next week, work on installing stormwater infrastructure on Salem will continue dependent on the CenturyLink duct bank, and contingencies such as the street removal on Howard St. will continue if the bank is not moved in time.

All Phase 1 light poles have been installed on the opposite side of the square, and new power boxes will be installed on the Warren County Justice Center area of Phase 1.
