The Iowa House passed the Length of Service Bill this week. State Representative Jon Thorup spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the bill.

“I was very happy this passing. I think it’s a danger we have in this state that we don’t have as many volunteers in those positions as we used to. We need them because in rural Iowa we don’t have as many full-time firefighters and EMS folks to go to all the places in rural Iowa so this was a good step.”
