The Knoxville City Council will meet in a regular session Monday. The council will hold a public hearing and consider action on entering into a general obligation corporate purpose loan agreement not to exceed $1,630,000 for street improvement projects. The council will consider approving a Community Catalyst Remediation Grant application and approve a matching Municipal Grant for 205 East Main street in Knoxville. 205 East Main street is an abandoned two-story building, and the building’s owners have proposed to rehabilitate the building by converting the second floor to apartments and returning the main floor to commercial use. It has been determined that in the current market additional funding would be needed for the project and a Community Catalyst Building Remediation application could result in $100,000 in state funding to help in filling the funding gap. The council would then submit a matching $100,000 grant to help with the project, the matching grant would also increase the chances of securing state funding.

The meeting will begin at 6:15 in the Municipal Building Council Chambers.
