The Simpson Storm softball team fell in a pair of one-run contests Sunday in an American Rivers Conference doubleheader, falling to #23 Loras 3-2 and 4-3. The Storm gave up three runs in the first inning of game one and were unable to get it back, despite not allowing any Loras chances for the rest of the contest. Brooke Tucker hit a two-run bomb in the fifth to get the game back within one, and the Storm had the bases loaded and one out in the seventh, but were unable to convert.
Game two saw the Storm out to an early 3-0 lead after the third, but the Duhawks rallied for three in the fourth inning and the game winner in the sixth to complete the sweep. Simpson falls to 16-9 overall and 1-3 in conference play, and host Dubuque Tuesday.
