Vermeer Corporation is based in Pella, but as many residents know, does business all over the world.
Mindi Vanden Bosch is the new director of operations at Vermeer, and says they too have been impacted by the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the economic fallout international sanctions have had.
Vanden Bosch says the devastation for the people directly impacted by the conflict comes front of mind, and behind that, the violence that has led to financial and trade sanctions on Russia that has caused a ripple effect on an already strained global supply chain.
“As an organization that values people above all, we are deeply concerned for the citizens of both countries suffering from the invasion in Ukraine and the suffering the people of Russia will face due to these financial sanctions. Our teams, especially at our European regional offices, are focused on ways to support refugees impacted by these events,” Vermeer released in a statement this week.
She says Vermeer has no direct manufacturing operations in either country, but based on U.S. restrictions, they have had no contact with dealers selling their products in Russia. The company announced a pause to shipments to Russia or Belarus.
