Pleasantville’s golf squads got their season off to a great start at West Central Valley, while the Trojans’ track squads will travel to Lynnville-Sully for their meet today.
The Trojans’ boys’ golf squad opened the season finishing first in a quad at West Central Valley. Pleasantville finished with a team score of 184, 22 strokes ahead of second-place Madrid. Two golfers tied for the meet medalist for the Trojans, with Sophomore Ryder Thill and Senior Jake Hiemstra shooting a 45. Mason Scheve and Andrew Pender followed up with 46 and 48, respectively. The Trojans’ girls’ golf squad opened the season also finishing first in the quad at West Central Valley. Pleasantville’s girls shot a 233, and Kristen Roe took home the meet medalist with a low of 45. Leah Adreon was runner-up, finishing with a score of 60. The Trojans’ boys will be back in action for a home triangular with Carlisle and Knoxville, while the girls will have a week to prepare for their next meet, a home quad with Earlham, Madrid, and Woodward-Granger.
The Trojans’ track squads will travel to Lynnville-Sully for their meet today. Pleasantville’s boys will be having their first meet of the season after their opening meet at Pella Christian canceled due to inclement weather. The Trojans’ girls opened their season finishing fourth at Clarke Thursday afternoon. Pleasantville will compete with the host, BGM, Colfax-Mingo, HLV, Montezuma, North Mahaska, and Sigourney.
The meet at Lynnville-Sully gets underway at 4:30 PM.
