The Simpson baseball team dropped two out of three games against Cornell in non-conference action over the weekend, falling 8-4 on Friday, 9-8 in extra innings on Saturday, and ending the home series with an 8-4 win.

The Storm led 3-0 early in the first contest, but gave up four runs in the seventh to take a lead they would not relinquish. Game two saw the Storm fall behind 6-2 after 6.5 innings of work, but came back to force extras, only to see Cornell score twice in the 10th and survive a Storm comeback attempt to win. The third contest had the Storm go behind again 4-2 into the bottom of the fifth, but a three-run fifth and three-run seventh allowed Simpson to avoid the sweep. Simpson is now 10-9 overall, and hosts Nebraska-Wesleyan today in a single conference contest at 6pm.
