This week is National Library week, which is a time to highlight the role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in strengthening communities.

Knoxville Public Library Director Roslin Thompson spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about National Library Week.

“The theme this year is” Connect with Your Library” which fits in with our tagline at the Knoxville Public library; “We are connecting people, faces, and ideas.” The idea is that the library offers so many resources to help the community grow and connect people with each other and information. We offer information online and in-person all sorts of resources offered for free through the library.”

First celebrated in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association.
