With her senior year coming to an end, Norwalk girls’ soccer star Jocelyn Bice looks to close out her final season on a high note.
After scoring 23 goals and leading the team in points in 2021, Bice picked up right where she left off last season, scoring seven goals in the first four games of 2022. She also leads the team in assists with five, distributing the ball at a high rate. Now, as Norwalk currently sits at 4-0 on the season and No. 1 in Class 2A after beating No. 12 in Class 3A Ames Tuesday, Bice iterates that it is important for her and her team to not overlook any opponents on the schedule.
“Last season, we had that semifinal loss and it did not feel good. I think this season, we can’t overlook anybody, we have to play every game like we are equal and just go out and give 100%. Go all out.”
Norwalk has beaten Ames, No. 11 in Class 2A Bondurant-Farrar, Pella Christian, and ADM to kick off the season. The Warriors will be back in action Friday for another home non-conference match with Des Moines Lincoln. The full interview with Bice can be found at kniakrls.com under Today’s Local Sports.
