Pella Christian spring athletics was set to embark on a busy Thursday with six teams scheduled to be in action — but instead, all events and activities have been cancelled or postponed to a later tday.

The Eagles tennis teams were set to kick off the day, as the boys were to host the #3 team in Class 1A and crosstown rival Pella and the Class 1A #8 ranked Pella Christian girls squad were going to make the short drive across town to take on the #6 ranked Dutch–instead, those will be rescheduled at a date TBD. With two matches under their belt, junior girls tennis players Katy Roose and Claire Vander Molen say that their previous matchups have built confidence heading into conference play.

“Each player that we play is different, so I think they all give us a really good experience. It helps us build confidence going into harder competitions.”

Pella Christian’s boys and girls track and field teams have had their meet at North Mahaska cancelled.

Rounding out the night for Eagles’ spring athletics was supposed to be a soccer doubleheader against Centerville, but that too has been postponed.
