
The Knoxville Girls Tennis Squad won the Saydel Invitational on Saturday scoring 14 points to outdistance the host Eagles who had 10.5. Olivia Maasdam won the singles title rolling through the three matches 10-4 in round one 10-3 in the semi-finals and 10-4 in the championship. Laila Tiller claimed 4th place for the Panthers. In doubles, the team of Jayden Streigle and Janie Maasdam placed 2nd, falling to a duo from Southwest Valley in the championship. Kate Schneider and Riley Dailey grabbed 5th place. Panthers Coach Nick DeMoss was very happy with the day, telling KNIA/KRLS Sports his girls were able to learn some things about themselves and what they need to work on. Knoxville will host Pella in its next outing, which is a make up from a previously postponed meet. That will be on Tuesday at the Joel Tonda Tennis Courts.
