New Indianola City Manager Ben Reeves will begin in May, but has early impressions of Indianola after meeting residents and taking a tour of the town. Reeves tells KNIA News he knew of the Des Moines area after driving across the midwest from Utah to New York for many years, and Indianola was also known after applying for the position in 2015. Reeves said he brought his family to the area, and knew it would be a good place to live.
“I had the opportunity to bring my family out to interview for the position. I kind of felt it was a two-way interview, our family was interviewing the good folks of Indianola as well, and we fell in love with it. We fell in love with the square and the great shops there, and what it will transform into after the construction project. Clearing it up will be a challenge, but it looks like it’s well underway and will be a great heart of the community. And then just general growth and economic development diversity is something the community will want to invest in as well.”
Reeves is featured on today’s In Depth with Dr. Bob Leonard.
