PCM Boys Golf Finishes Sixth at Bondurant-Farrar

 

PCM’s boys’ golf squad placed sixth in their second tournament of the season at Bondurant-Farrar.

 

The Mustangs finished with a team score of 373, 19 strokes behind fifth-place South Hamilton. The low scorer for PCM was Grant Van Veen, who scored an 88. Keaton Thomas finished right behind him with a score of 89. Easton Van Veen and Tate Tangeman each finished tied for third on the team with a score of 98.

 

PCM’s next meet will be Thursday at Jester Park in Granger.

 

PCM Girls Track Places Third, Boys Place 6th, Travel to Pella Christian

 

PCM’s girls’ track squad placed third among large schools at Iowa Valley, while the boys placed sixth in their meet at East Marshall.

 

The Mustangs’ girls placed third among large schools in their first meet of the season at Iowa Valley. PCM finished with 79 team points, behind Benton and Williamsburg. PCM’s top finish came from their shuttle hurdle relay team run by Belle Hudnut, Kate McLellan, Delaney Baird, and Chelsea Bird with a time of 1:10. Laura Tedeschini placed second in the long jump with a jump of 13’11.5”.

 

The Mustangs’ boys finished sixth with a team score of 54 points, four ahead of the host. The top finisher for PCM’s boys was Aidan Anderson, who placed second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.92 seconds. Gavin Fenton placed third in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 59.88 seconds for the Mustangs.

 

Both track squads will be back in action today for a coed meet at Pella Christian. The meet gets underway at 4:30 PM.

 

PCM Girls Golf Opens Season With Heart of Iowa Triangular at Nevada

 

PCM’s girls’ golf squad will look to get their season underway as they travel to Indian Creek Golf Course, which will be hosted by Nevada.

 

The Mustangs will be looking to get their season started after having their first meet at Newton pushed back due to inclement weather. This meet will be a Heart of Iowa Conference triangular with Nevada and Saydel. PCM is returning their top four golfers from last season, who are Eleigh Davis, Riley Johannes, DeAnna McHargue and Tori Peterson.

 

The meet at Indian Creek Golf Course gets underway at 4:00 PM.

 

PCM Soccer Travels to Nevada for First Heart of Iowa Conference Match

 

PCM’s soccer squad will look to get their third win of the season as they travel to Heart of Iowa Conference foe Nevada today.

 

The Mustangs will look to get their second consecutive win after beating Atlantic Friday, 4-1. PCM has beaten them and Sigourney so far this season. Their lone loss was to No. 4 in Class 1A Pella Christian. The Mustangs will be looking for their first win against Nevada since 2019, when they defeated the Cubs, 2-1.

 

The match at Nevada High School gets underway at 5:30 PM.
