President Biden visited Iowa Tuesday, and announced he is suspending a federal rule to allow the sale of higher ethanol gasoline this summer, allowing widespread use of the 15% ethanol blend compared to the standard 10%. Congresswoman Cindy Axne tells KNIA News not only will it help lower prices at the pump, it is a national security measure.
“It is a great product, it is a great opportunity for our country to lower prices at the pump, produce clean energy here in America, and help our farmers and rural communities across the country. I look at ethanol as another piece of national security. Lowers our demand, makes us less reliant on other countries, increases security for us because we produce it here. It’s a win-win.”
According to the EPA, any vehicle made in 2001 can use the E–15 fuel. For more information, click below.
