Indianola High School students competed in the State Solo/Ensemble Vocal Contest at WDM Valley High School over the weekend, with over 100 students performing. Indianola students received 24 “I” ratings, 31 “II” ratings, and 3 “III” ratings, with Erica Knupp, Jacob Butz, and Casey Daughenbaugh earning the highest scores on the day. Knupp was also selected as the “Best of Center” in the soprano vocal solo. To be selected, each individual judge at the event has the opportunity to choose one student or ensemble as the outstanding performance of the day, and Knupp will represent Indianola at a special recital in Ames in May.
