Both Knoxville boys and girls golf squads played their first 18 hole meets of the season and the girls placed 4th at Centerville while the boys won at Albia. The girls shot a team score of 468 and for the second straight meet, Faith Roozeboom was medalist carding an 89, winning the meet by three shots. The boys won the Albia Invitational by 17 shots scoring a 331 led by Evan Smith’s -3 under 69 to take the individual win by five shots. The girls play at Moravia on Thursday while the boys travel to Pleasantville also on Thursday. On the pitch at Randy Wilson Track, the Knoxville Girls Soccer Squad continued its rough start to the season by falling 7-0 to Des Moines Christian. The Panthers trailed 1-0 at half-time but the Lions erupted for six goals in the 2nd half. Knoxville is now 1-4 on the season with its four losses coming against teams with a combined 14-6 record. The Panthers head to West Central Valley on Thursday.
