The Indianola School Board held a discussion regarding the materials selection process in the school libraries throughout the district Tuesday, receiving a presentation from school administrators. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the district is working hard on finding a middle ground for those concerned about material and those who want to keep a variety of topics in the library, and is work in progress.
“It is something we will continue to work on. Something our building libraries and principals will continue to talk about, safeguards and wanting the library to be a great resource for all of our students. We do want to have a variety of topics in the library, but we want things to be developmentally appropriate and appropriate for school too so we are trying to find that balance.”
