Pella Christian has announced that Jordan Dyk will take over as the next head coach of the Girls Basketball team.
Dyk takes over for Brad Engbers, who led the Eagles program since the 2018-2019 season and compiled a record of 30-63. Dyk has 14 years of coaching basketball under his belt, and most recently coached the JV boys team at his alma mater Unity Christian in Michigan for eight years. He currently serves as the middle school PE teacher and offensive line coach for the high school football team. Pella Christian Athletic Director Dan Branderhorst was thrilled to make the announcement.
“We are really excited about the hire of Coach Jordan Dyk. Jordan just brings a tremendous amount of coaching experience to our basketball program and this is the perfect fit for us. He’s intelligent, he’s humble, he’s a lot of fun, he has a great personality, and he also has a passion for the game of basketball. So, I’m excited about the future of our program and I’m just excited that we can make this known to the public and we can get ready for the 2022-23 season.”
Jordan’s wife Kristin is a graduate of Pella Christian and still owns the career and season records for rebounds, blocked shots, and field goal percentage. Kristin also has the most points in a single girls basketball season with 440 points.
