Pleasantville Emergency Services were called to a residential structure fire at 408 East Jackson Street in Pleasantville Thursday afternoon. Heavy smoke was coming from the structure, the door was locked, and it was determined the homeowner was outside the structure. Firefighters extinguished the fire quickly. There was smoke damage on the inside but nobody was injured. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Pleasantville Emergency Services were assisted by Knoxville Fire Department, Melcher-Dallas Fire Department, Marion County Emergency Management, and Marion County Sheriff’s Department.
