Indianola First, Norwalk Third at Indian Relays
The Indianola boys track team placed first at their home meet Friday afternoon scoring 95 points, while the Norwalk squad placed third with 78 points.
Walker Whalen broke the Indianola school record in the discus earning a first place finish throwing 185-08, while other top Indians finishers included Carter Erickson winning the 100m and 200m, Logan Piper won the 400m and 400m hurdles, Gavin Legg won the high jump, while the sprint medley team placed 2nd.
Norwalk’s top finishers included a first place finish in the sprint medley, shuttle hurdle relay, and 4×800 relay teams, Brody Lucas placed third in the 800m, Grant Miller second in the 110m hurdles, Luke Geyer second in the 1600m, and Braedon Carlson placed third in the 400m hurdles.
Indianola Tennis Squads Compete in Tournament, Triangular
The Indianola girls tennis team took second place at the Boone Invitational Friday. Brynn Bishop earned a first place finish at #2 singles, while Hannah Price and Kaelyn Kindelspire each earned a second place finish in singles action. Audra Dowler, Ceris Askelsen, Ella Hildreth, and Audrey Troutman all earned second place finishes in doubles action. The Indians host Nevada for their next action on Monday.
The Indianola boys fell to Ballard but took down SE Polk in a triangular Friday afternoon. The Indians fell to Ballard 7-4, but defeated the Rams of SE Polk 10-1 to round out the meet. The Indians improve to 4-3 and next play at Waukee Northwest on Monday.
